Sidakdeep Singh Chahal, a 15-year-old from UP, has set Guinness World Record for longest hair on a male teenager. He has never had his hair cut in his entire life and has grown it to a length of 146 cm. Sidakdeep washes his hair twice a week, dedicating at least an hour each time to washing, drying, and brushing it.
Sidakdeep Singh Chahal’s hair measures 130 cm or about 4 feet and 3inches.
Sidakdeep Singh Chahal has never had a haircut in his life and the 15-year-old Sikh boy from Uttar Pradesh has set the world record for the longest hair on a male teenager.
The Guinness World Records (GWR) posted Chahal’s video on X on September 14. “People say my hair are very long, very thick. They have a good volume. They wish they had hair like this. My hair measures in at 130 cm or just about four feet and three inches,” he said in the video.
Due to their religious beliefs, Chahal’s parents never cut his hair, and he too follows it now. “I practise Sikhism and we are forbidden from cutting our hair,” he said. One of the core tenets of Sikhism is to never cut one’s hair, as it is a gift from God. Chahal usually ties his hair in a bun and covers it with a dastar (turban), as is the custom among Sikhs.
He said washing his hair alone takes around 20 minutes, and needs another half an hour to dry. After that, brushing it takes 10 to 15 minutes, the teenager said, as his mother is seen helping him in all the tasks.
“I’m helped by my mother in this since it is difficult to handle hair this long. If it weren’t for my mother, I don’t think I would have this record,” Chahal said
